WHY DOES LOOSE SKIN OCCUR?
Loose skin begins to onset in our early 20s as our bodies’ natural collagen production begins to slow down. This process is accelerated by activities like tanning, smoking, consuming a high sugar diet, and stress or illness. Our skin also experiences another sharp decrease in skin tightness starting at around age 40, when our elastin (the protein that makes our skin taut) production begins to cease.
HOW DOES SKIN TIGHTENING WORK?
At SLK, we take a biochemical approach to restoring skin tightness. We focus on rebuilding Collagen type I, Collagen type III, and Collagen type VII using multiple devices and topical ingredients. If you are in your late 30s or older, we also focus our efforts on restoring elastin using medical devices and cutting-edge skincare ingredients. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS FROM SKIN TIGHTENING?
Results are dependent on the speed of your body’s metabolism. Results typically take 6 months to 2 years to see. Keep in mind that although we can turn back the clock, we cannot stop the clock. Skin tightening is a process that needs upkeep. You will require multiple visits per year to maintain tight skin.
